Radisys Partners with Zoom Technology Group to Expand Broadband Connectivity in the U.S.
Radisys Corporation, a global leader in open telecommunications solutions, has announced a strategic collaboration with Zoom Technology Group (ZTG), a leading fiber network operator based in Dubai, UAE. Together, they plan to expand fiber broadband connectivity across the United States, building on the success of Radisys’ advanced Connect Open Broadband solutions, which have already been deployed in South Africa.
Transforming the Broadband Landscape with Open Solutions
Radisys is well-known for its cloud-native, software-driven solutions that support the creation of open, interoperable networks. The company’s Connect Open Broadband platform is designed to work seamlessly with non-proprietary solutions, ensuring flexibility and scalability. By adopting Radisys’ technology, ZTG can reduce both capital and operational expenses while selecting the best broadband solutions to meet its current and future needs.
The Connect Open Broadband portfolio includes a range of innovative products such as the Connect Broadband Access Controller, Radisys Management System, optical network terminals (ONTs), and Linux Foundation Broadband-based VOLTHA/SEBA optical line terminals (OLTs). These solutions support both G-PON and XGS-PON in the same OLT, which simplifies network management and eliminates the need for future hardware upgrades.
A Step Toward Global Expansion
Zoom Technology Group’s CEO, Mohammed Manjra, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that Radisys’ solutions have been pivotal as ZTG enters the U.S. market. He emphasized that the open, disaggregated nature of Radisys’ products offers flexibility, allowing ZTG to adapt its network architecture as needed. This collaboration aligns with ZTG’s broader goal of delivering high-speed internet to underserved and unserved communities globally, helping to bridge the digital divide.
Arpit Joshipura, General Manager at The Linux Foundation, also highlighted the growing trend of open, disaggregated networks. He pointed out that the increasing adoption of VOLTHA by operators worldwide is simplifying deployment and enhancing cost-efficiency, flexibility, and service delivery.
Expanding in the U.S. and Beyond
Radisys CEO Arun Bhikshesvaran shared his excitement about this partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to be working with ZTG to support their broadband operations in the United States. Our solutions have been successfully deployed in South Africa, and this collaboration further demonstrates our commitment to open standards. It marks an important milestone as we expand our VOLTHA/SEBA-based solutions into the Americas after successful implementations in Asia and Europe.”
Conclusion: Bridging the Digital Divide
This partnership between Radisys and Zoom Technology Group underscores the importance of open, flexible broadband solutions in providing affordable, high-speed internet to underserved areas. As the demand for reliable, scalable broadband services grows, collaborations like these are crucial for ensuring everyone has access to fast and reliable connectivity.
