Nokia and Extreme Broadband Partner to Revolutionize AI Data Centers Across Malaysia
Nokia has formed a strategic partnership with Extreme Broadband (EBB) and its subsidiary Open DC to modernize and future-proof AI data centers throughout Malaysia. This initiative is fully aligned with Malaysia’s National Cloud Computing Policy and is designed to meet the growing demands of the banking and financial services industries, which require robust, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure.
By leveraging Nokia’s cutting-edge IP network solutions, Extreme Broadband will interconnect six critical AI data centers located in major Malaysian hubs, including Cyberjaya, Johor Bahru, Penang, and Kedah. This upgrade will significantly boost network reliability, security, and performance—key factors for businesses relying on AI-driven technologies.
This collaboration also advances EBB’s mission of “Innovating Connectivity,” supporting Open DC’s objective to establish essential connectivity hubs that drive Malaysia’s digital economy forward. Furthermore, Nokia and EBB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of next-generation data center solutions and quantum-safe network (QSN) technologies, positioning Malaysia at the forefront of secure digital infrastructure.
For businesses and stakeholders following digital transformation trends in Malaysia, this partnership represents a significant leap in AI infrastructure capabilities, ensuring resilience and scalability in the face of rapid technological advancements.
