Penguin Solutions Announces CEO Transition as Kash Shaikh Appointed President and CEO
Penguin Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance computing (HPC) and AI infrastructure solutions, has announced a significant leadership transition. The company revealed that Mark Adams will retire from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer and step down as a member of the Board of Directors. Following a comprehensive executive search, the Board has appointed technology veteran Kash Shaikh as the new President and CEO, effective February 2, 2026.
To ensure continuity and a smooth leadership handover, Adams will continue to support Penguin Solutions in an advisory role for nine months.
Kash Shaikh Brings Decades of Technology Leadership
Kash Shaikh joins Penguin Solutions with more than 30 years of experience in technology leadership and operations. He has a strong track record of driving growth, innovation, and customer-focused execution across enterprise software, SaaS, and AI infrastructure markets.
Most recently, Shaikh served as President and CEO of Securonix, where he successfully scaled the business, introduced agentic AI solutions, strengthened global customer relationships, and led both organic and inorganic growth initiatives across international markets.
Board Praises Mark Adams’ Transformational Leadership
Penny Herscher, Chair of the Penguin Solutions Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Adams’ leadership and long-term impact on the organization.
“On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Mark for his leadership over the past five years and for the lasting impact he has had on Penguin Solutions,” said Herscher. “Mark led the transformation of the company, unifying independent businesses under a single innovative brand at a critical moment in the AI revolution.”
Under Adams’ leadership, Penguin Solutions expanded its portfolio, entered new markets, and strengthened its position as a trusted partner for mission-critical AI infrastructure solutions across multiple industries.
Confidence in the Company’s Next Growth Phase
Herscher also shared the Board’s confidence in Shaikh’s appointment, highlighting his operational expertise and leadership style.
“After a thoughtful succession planning process, we are confident Kash is the right leader to guide Penguin Solutions through its next phase of growth. His experience in scaling global technology organizations and his deep understanding of AI infrastructure align perfectly with our strategy and culture.”
As demand for production-scale AI infrastructure continues to accelerate, Shaikh’s background positions him well to build on the company’s momentum.
Mark Adams Reflects on His Tenure
Commenting on his retirement, Adams described his time at Penguin Solutions as a defining chapter of his career.
“Leading Penguin Solutions has been a privilege. This is the right time for me to retire, and I’m deeply grateful to the Board, our employees, customers, and shareholders for their continued support,” Adams said. “Together, we have redefined Penguin Solutions and positioned the company to capitalize on major opportunities in AI and advanced memory markets.”
