Yondr Group, the global hyperscale data centre developer, owner, and operator, has officially brought its second facility online at its flagship London campus in Slough. The newly commissioned data centre adds another 10MW of capacity, bringing the current live and operational capacity to 10MW out of the building’s total planned 30MW.
This milestone marks a significant step in the phased development of Yondr’s 100MW campus in one of the world’s most densely interconnected data centre regions.
“Our London campus is being delivered at pace and to a very high standard of reliability, resilience, and sustainability. It fulfils our commitment to meeting our clients’ requirements while strengthening Slough’s position as a key global hub for data centre capacity,” said Peter Hill, VP of Design & Construction EMEA at Yondr.
The newly operational facility follows the successful launch of Yondr’s first data centre on the campus in summer 2024. Construction is already underway on a third building, which will add a further 40MW of capacity once completed, further solidifying Yondr’s rapidly growing presence in the UK and across Europe.
Strategically located in Slough—home to the UK’s largest data centre ecosystem—this second facility has been designed with environmental performance at its core. It achieves an annualised Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.21, signaling high energy efficiency. The building also features rooftop solar photovoltaic panels and a green wall on its southern façade to support biodiversity and temperature regulation. In alignment with Yondr’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, the facility includes electric vehicle parking infrastructure and holds a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ sustainability rating.
As part of its long-term commitment to sustainability and community engagement, the site’s development has included extensive remediation of the former industrial land, which was once home to a paint factory. Hazardous materials such as lead and legacy industrial chemicals were safely removed in close coordination with environmental authorities.
Yondr has also collaborated with Slough Borough Council and the Canal & River Trust to enhance the surrounding area, delivering local improvements including upgrades to a nearby cycleway and the installation of bird and bat boxes to support urban wildlife.
The company is also investing in the future of the local workforce. As part of its broader campus development, Yondr has launched an apprenticeship programme aimed at providing hands-on learning and career opportunities in the data centre industry. By the end of 2025, four apprentices are expected to be working on-site, contributing to the day-to-day operations while gaining valuable technical experience.
Beyond the UK, Yondr continues to grow its European footprint. The company recently achieved its first Ready-for-Service (RFS) milestone in Frankfurt, Germany—highlighting its commitment to building world-class infrastructure across key data centre markets.
With momentum continuing to build across multiple sites, Yondr Group remains firmly on track to deliver on its mission of supporting global digital infrastructure with scalable, sustainable, and reliable data centre solutions.
